There is no SECRET INGREDIENT! It is just YOU!

Every child's self-confidence need to be built right from when they are very young. As young children, by default they will be confident as they do not know that they have to worry about others' opinions or that they have to please others. When they are toddlers, parents shower all their love and appreciate even the minutest achievements. Every milestone becomes a celebration! The child understands that every achievement will be acknowledged and appreciated. Everything changes when the child enters another setting - a preschool, an early years setting or a childcare. Now, the theory of relativity comes into play! Suddenly, all adults - parents, teachers, carers or any other adult around the child starts comparing his/her achievement with others, judges them and then decides whether to celebrate or not. Worse, parents decide how they will treat the child depending on their judgement!!! 

Now, let us take a look at the child's perspective of this situation. The child had comprehended that all his/her achievements will be first acknowledged and next, appreciated. WIth this expectation, the child continues to achieve small little milestones in life everyday. But, what the child receives is something totally different! No acknowledgement of many milestones achieved and definitely instead of appreciation, the child recieves a "Judgement". Since the child experiences a new response for the same behaviour, the child is confused! Should the child continue to achieve milestones? Should the child be led by the guidance from the parents depending on their "Judgement"?? Remember, the child is not an adult to analyse and decide the next course of action. 

So, what we see in the next five years is either a miracle or a disaster depending on how the child is judged and directed! 

Do you want your child to be a MIRACLE or a DISASTER? Decide for yourself because much of it lies in your hands. There is no secret ingredient for a child to become unique! THEY ARE BORN UNIQUE!!! 

Take time to continue to acknowledge, appreciate, inspire and nurture the wonderful qualities in your child! YOUR CHILD IS SPECIAL! By appreciating your child's small achievements, you are instilling SELF-CONFIDENCE in your child.
